360
360 – Watch the pieces of the puzzle fall into place!
360 is a very cleverly written movie which reminded me of opening a 1500 piece puzzle, thinking you will never ever complete it, and then slowly but surely, the pieces fall into place and you see the completed picture in front of you! And you walk away feeling a deep sense of satisfaction.
Why, you might ask? Well, the movie revolves around a number of people, from diverse backgrounds, living in different cities around the world, and who seemingly have no connection to each other. Each is introduced in a completely separate set of circumstances and each scene has nothing to do with the others…or do they?
We meet Anna, Rocco, and Michael (played by Jude Law) in Vienna, Valentina and a love struck Muslim man in Paris, Rose (played by Rachel Weisz), Rui and Laura in London, and Tyler (Played by Ben Foster) and John (Played by Anthony Hopkins) in Colorado. And from then on Destiny and Fate take over as the plot unfolds.
I don’t want to be spoiler so I’m not going to say any more, but with a star studded ensemble cast and a winning story line, you are sure to enjoy this adult thriller.
Besides the humour, sad moments and surprises, this show hits home many life lessons, revolving around trust, vigilance, family relationships and the fact that the world really is round. Hence, the very apt title!
Directed by Fernando Meirelles and released by Magnolia Films, the movie opens on 24 May in SA, and is classified 16 LSN.
